Supervisors Apply New Skills to Solve Workplace Challenges
The Leadership Journey™ is delivered through short, focused bursts, not as a one-time training event. Our 5-Step Burst Learning Model™ guides supervisors from learning to application, with follow-up tools that hold them accountable.

Step 1 – Learn
Supervisors learn practical, how-to skills from a short course.
Step 2 – Internalize
Supervisors discuss, practice, and connect skills to their workplace situations.
Step 3 – Apply
On the job, supervisors use Personal Action Plans to apply new skills and solve real workplace challenges.
Step 4 – Follow Up
About a week later, follow-up holds supervisors accountable for applying their Personal Action Plans in the workplace.
Step 5 – Repeat
Supervisors repeat these steps every 2–4 weeks to build all 12 core leadership skills.
“Too often, employees attend training and get hit with a fire hose of information—so much that no real change happens. The Leadership Journey focuses on one subject at a time, giving our leaders time to apply what they learn. Follow-up reinforces the new skills.”
Barry Crandall, Human Resources Manager, Richland Industries
Everything Included for Group or Self-Paced Learning
Each course brings the Burst Learning Model to life through seven active learning components. Together, these building blocks keep supervisors engaged and accountable—encouraging reflection, discussion, and the on-the-job application of new skills.
Each course includes these active learning components:
- Assessment: Supervisors focus attention and activate prior knowledge.
- Video with Note-Taking Guide: Short, 10-minute videos get right to the point. Supervisors actively engage by completing a step-by-step, how-to guide that shows exactly how to perform each skill.
- Post-Questions: Open-ended questions help supervisors connect new learning to real workplace challenges.
- Skill Practice: Supervisors build confidence by practicing new skills together in a safe setting using role-plays, scenarios, and real workplace examples.
- Quiz: Supervisors reinforce key skills and measure their progress.
- Personal Action Plan: Every supervisor creates a personalized roadmap they use back on the job to apply new skills and solve real workplace challenges.
- Follow-Up: Supervisors are held accountable for applying new skills and their action plans on the job to improve team performance.
Group Discussion: Open-ended questions prompt meaningful conversations where supervisors connect new skills to real workplace challenges, share experiences, and learn from one another’s perspectives.
